This summer, we facilitated a series of amazing sessions in and around Carnegie Centre to collaboratively create community art banners!
These lightweight, easy to carry (or strap on to a scooter, stroller, wheelchair etc), accessible art banners will be carried in a community Parade from Carnegie Centre to Gallery Gachet on September 13th!
We'll be celebrating the opening of the Annual Oppenheimer Art Show! This year's theme is "The World As We Create It".
The banners brought together community members from across the DTES as we gathered in multiple locations to make art, including Hastings Street.
For this beautiful community art project, we welcomed in all the various languages spoken in the DTES. There are so many, including many Indigenous languages!
Join us on September 13th at Carnegie Centre! At 4 pm, we'll meet to mark the route to Gallery Gachet with chalk art. The Parade will leave at 5 pm from outside the centre.
